The southern Ming was a loyalist movement that was active in southern China following the Ming dynasty's collapse in 1644, when the Ming were overthrown when peasant rebels captured Beijing.Zhu Youlang, Prince of Gui, the Yongli Emperor was the fourth and last emperor of the Southern Ming dynasty of China. His era name means "Perpetual calendar".By 1661, after being pressed back into Yunnan province, Yongli fled to Burma. A Manchu army followed and captured him there, and he was executed in June 1662.
